Attack of the Killer Roommate - Part 2

A killer roommate...enlightened!
"So what do you think of an Island where all drugs are legal…they are provided by the government, ecstasy, coke, everything?" I glance back at him to see if he notices that I wasn’t even paying attention. "What?" I say. "An Island," he continues, losing himself in a fantasy. His eyes are almost shut and I suspect that he is visualizing his dream. "Every drug is MADE by the government- and sold to the people-so the government makes money from it. The people who die ...uh…help prevent the overpopulation" he pauses and I don’t know why. He looks at me for the first time since I entered the room. "So…", he starts and I anticipate either a question or a conclusion to this enlightened encounter. "What do you think??" I stare at him for a second and debate whether I should ask him if he is serious. A moment passes and I know he is. "umm, well besides it being Illegal…" He snaps at me. "no, no, no," he moves closer and lowers his voice in importance. "It is an island." he says "the people there make the laws" he nods slowly assuming that I would FINALLY understand his madness. I don’t, and seeing the clock frozen at 2:04 AM makes me want to walk out of the room and go to sleep. Not as an act of rudeness but as an act of tiredness. His phone plays a ring tone I am all too familiar with. It means he could disappear for a few days, or he could find someone else who thinks this ‘Crackhead Island’ is a good idea. Either way is bad news. He talks excitedly on the phone and the only thing I hear is "yeah man, It would be an island…" Oh I know he’s already found a like mind. That’s my sign to step out into MY world of dreams. I pass his room on my way to mine and I see a "make your own rocket launcher kit" on his floor. I know that oh my goodness that cannot end well. However I am too tired for rationality today. Whatever comes of that will be another attack to intelligence from the Killer roommate. When I wake, I’ll watch and see who wins.
