Goodbye For Now

A sad farewell to a beloved child. The gaping maw that was left by your passing will never be filled.
Goodbye, for now,
our precious one…
We’ll see you again,
one bright morning.
When Christ calls us to be
with Him and you
We will have bodies
that have been made anew.

You were our child,
our babe, our love…
Our piece of heaven
here on this earth.
No one could ever
take your place,
Dear God, how we miss
that furry face.

You loved us with out
holding love back.
You ruled our home
with a velvety, iron paw.
You gave to us far more love
than we’d ever had.
You gave us the reason
to wake up, to smile and be glad.

Good night, our Strider, good night.
We’ll see you in our dreams.
