USA Volleyball's 2004 award winners announced at "the BOYCE"

USA Volleyball honored its 2004 award winners on Thursday, May 27, at the Dorothy C. Boyce Annual Awards and Recognitions Banquet, presented at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center.

USA Volleyball honored its 2004 award winners on Thursday, May 27, at the Dorothy C. Boyce Annual Awards and Recognitions Banquet, presented by Molten and co-sponsored by Mizuno and ESIX Entertainment and Sports Insurance Experts at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center.

Pete Dunn (Vadnais Height, Minn.), currently the vice president of USA Volleyball's Member Relations and Human Resources Division and a long-time member of the USVBA, was presented with the organization's highest honor, the Dr. Harold T. Friermood "Frier" Award to cap the night's events.

Videos commemorating the 20-year anniversary of winning USA Volleyball's first gold (USA men) and silver (USA women) medals at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the 75th Anniversary Beach All-Era Teams and 25 years of the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships were also presented during the evening.

Recognizes individuals who have made longtime significant contributions to volleyball.

Peter J. Dunn

George J. Fisher Leader In Volleyball Award

Named in honor of George J. Fisher, the first president of the United States Volleyball Association (1928-52) and a founding member of the USVBA.

William Allan Forrester Susan A. Mailhot Charles Robert McCracken Rodney Kirk Wilde

Harold E. Wilson Distinguished Service Award

Recognizes persons who have made significant contributions to their national federation, as well as to the FIVB, and who have made an impact on the international game.

Wilbur H. Peck Referee Emeritus Award

Nancy S. Sharpless Scorekeeper Emeritus Award

Frances Zelinkoff

Karen M. Johnson Human Resources Award

Presented to an individual in the area of Member Relations and Human Resources.

E. Doublas Boyden Media Recognition Award

Recognizes and thanks individuals who have supported volleyball on a continuing basis.

Recognizes individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to the planning, collection, storage, retrieval and management of volleyball archives.
