Spiritual Housekeeping

From time to time we find that it is advantageous, for maintaining an atmosphere of peace and harmony, to do a spiritual house cleaning.

I am reminded of something that took place just three houses down from where we were living in town. For several years one family after another had moved into that house, each staying less than six months, and then it would be vacant again. When a friend of ours came into town looking for property to buy, we told him that he could probably get that home at a good price since the owner was desperate to find a permanent buyer.

We accompanied our friend, and the realtor unlocked the door and stood back to let us go in first. Our friend went directly into the kitchen and began taking authority in a loud voice over demons of murder and violence. Jack immediately took the startled realtor back outside and kept him busy with questions about the yard and the exterior of the house.

We found out later from our friend that the moment he stepped into the kitchen he discerned that someone had been murdered in that room. After some investigating, Jack found that years before a wife had, indeed, killed her husband in the kitchen with a butcher knife. Our friend didn’t buy the house, but interestingly, the next family that moved in didn’t move out like the previous buyers. It became obvious that the authority taken over the spirits in that house had cleaned it out, making it a fit place for the next owners to live.

We have also found that in addition to occupying a building (perhaps, that is why some people believe that a particular house is haunted), demon spirits will at times attach themselves to certain objects.
