Excerpt from Psalm 91:God's Umbrella of Protection
Grass Fire Miraculously Extinguished
Psalm 91 Protection
Jack and our son, Bill—not knowing there was an old underground gas well at the back of our 300 acre property—were burning brush. As you can imagine, when the fire got over the gas well it literally exploded, sending fire in every direction and igniting a nearby, tall, dry, grass field. Immediately the fire was completely out of control. With no water lines back there at the time, they were fighting to no avail. The barrel of water they had in the back of the pickup didn’t even make a dent in the flames.
Seeing that the fire was getting dangerously close to other fields that fed right in to the surrounding homes, Jack flew up to the house to call the fire department, sent me to meet them at the cross roads so they wouldn’t get lost and then dashed back—only to find that the fire was out. And Bill, looking like he had been working in the coal mines, was sitting on a tree stump trying to catch his breath. Jack said, "How on earth were you able to put out the fire—there was no way." Bill’s next words—"I called on God"—said it all.
