Tom Cruise In Love...For Real?

Is Tom Cruise kidding? Cruise and his latest love, Katie Holmes, have been spotted together all over the place showing off their affection for one another. Cruise acted like a teeny-bopper with a first crush on the Oprah Winfrey show on Monday. He stated that love had turned him into a "lunatic." Said Cruise, "I can't be cool...I can't be laid back. It's something that has happened and I feel I want to celebrate it and I wanna celebrate her. She's a very special woman." Hmmm…I'm just not buying it. Cruise has dated a number of exceptional women and all of a sudden he is acting like a lovesick puppy over a woman 15 years his junior who he has only been dating for about 5 minutes? Come on!

Some sources claim that Cruise has finally found his true love, others claim the sudden public displays of affection for the Dawson's Creek beauty is just a publicity stunt since the two have upcoming movie releases. Him in War of the Worlds, her in Batman Begins. On Oprah’s show, Cruise spent the better half of the hour babbling about his romance with Holmes and pumping his fist into the air. Cruise said of Holmes, "I admired her and I thought I wanted to meet her. And I called her…She’s an extraordinary woman." Winfrey said of Cruise, "I’ve known Tom a long time and he has always been so private. I’ve never seen him like this before – he’s gone." Winfrey asked Cruise at one point, "Does that mean you’re going to ask her to marry you?" Cruise smiled and said, "I gotta discuss it with her."

Holmes said in a past interview that her childhood dream was to marry Tom Cruise. At the rate they’re going, if in fact this love is true, she could very well get her childhood dream to come true. Holmes recently split with her boyfriend of the past five years, Chris Klein. Cruise is divorced from actress Nicole Kidman, and just last year split from Penelope Cruz.
