Jackie Jr. Whacked on The Sopranos
In what some are calling a lackluster season finale for the HBO hit 'The Sopranos', the troubled Jackie Jr. was the latest character to be killed.
Jason Cerbone, the young heartthrob who played Jackie Jr. on 'The Sopranos' until his exit during the season finale, hit the talk show circuit hard on Monday and is currently waiting to see where his next big break will come. "He's interested in movies, and they're interested in him," said a spokesman for Cerbone. "So it's a good situation. He's doing what he needs to do and looking out for all the opportunities."
Chances are the former Jackie Jr. won't be hurting for work for too long, considering that the wildly popular HBO show has made him a household name after only weeks on the show. Although 'The Sopranos' is at the peak of its popularity, that did not dissuade some critics from questioning the rather anti-climactic season finale that aired on Sunday night.
Apart from the unexpected whacking of Jackie Jr., which occurred during the first 20 minutes of the episode, there really was not much to get excited about for next season. Some of the groundwork is clearly in place for what has been rumored to be the show's final season, but the cliffhanger ending that many anticipated simply did not materialize. Where was the Russian? Is Tony's psycho fling really going to stay away? Is Tony going to question Ralphie's decision to kill Jackie Jr.? Is Paulie Walnuts going to turn on the family? All of these questions are left to be answered next season, even though we probably should have touched on them Sunday.
