Richie and Goldstein released a statement through her publicist, Cindy Guagenti, which read, "We are confirming that we have amicably split." It was rumored last week that the two had split again but both camps remained mum on the subject. There has been no official reason given for the split, although it has been speculated that Richie had promised to work on gaining weight and living a healthier lifestyle when she and Goldstein got back together. Sources say that Richie has not made any changes to her diet and has been partying every night and Goldstein had had enough.

The two started dating in 2004 and announced their engagement in February 2005. Ten months later it was announced that the couple had split and the wedding was off. In March of this year the couple were spotted together again looking very much the couple. At the time it was reported that a source close to Richie said, "They decided to try again. They never stopped caring about each other. They really are so happy together…it was only a matter of time before they got back together." And apparently only a matter of time before calling it quits for the second time in less than a year.

Richie has a lot coming up to keep her busy. She is currently getting ready to go on a press tour for season 4 of The Simple Life. She is also working on her debut album and is in the process of writing a new novel. She already has one novel under her belt called The Truth About Diamonds. Richie has recently revealed that she is too thin and has blamed her December break-up for being part of the reason for her weight loss. Richie said, "I had a bad break-up, and it eats me up inside when I’m upset about something. I get really stressed out, and I do lose my appetite." She also recently admitted to seeing someone to get help with getting her life back under control. She will need it now that she is single again.
