Tennis: There's no chalk dust: Serena Williams is defintely out of this year's French Open, having failed to shake off an ankle inury that's been dogging her for over a month.
World No4 Serena Williams has been forced to pull out of the French Open due to a nagging ankle injury.
The 23-year-old ace, who won the Australian Open earlier this year, has lifted seven Grand Slam titles in her career, including one at Roland Garros in 2002, when she beat her sister Venus.
Williams, who originally hurt her ankle in the Amelia Island tournament at the start of April, was one of the top contenders to triumph in the event that gets underway next week.
