Once again Britney Spears has found herself in the headlines after nearly falling while holding her eight-month old son, Sean Preston.

Spears was leaving the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New York on Thursday with a drink in one hand and son Sean Preston in the other she tried moving through the crowd and allegedly tripped nearly dropping the baby. His head snapped back and his hat fell off, but one of Brit’s guards grabbed her and helped her regain her balance. Spears reportedly announced after the incident, "This is why I need a gun."

Spears and an unidentified woman then went shopping at FAO Schwartz and then to a nearby restaurant. It was reportedly that Spears broke down in tears and tried to use the baby to hide her face. She then disappeared with Sean Preston into the bathroom where she allegedly fixed her make-up and then left the restaurant. It has been a tough couple of months for Spears. She has been in the media a number of times for her questionable parenting skills.

Earlier this week Spears came under scrutiny for driving with her son in a car seat facing forward. Some safety regulations say it is safer for the car seat to face backward. In April Spears had a visit from the Department of Children and Family Services after Sean Preston fell from his high chair while in his nanny’s care. In February, the Department of Children and Family Services paid a visit to the Spears home after she was photographed driving with then four-month old Sean Preston on her lap. A major no-no. Since these incidents keep occurring there has been a lot of speculation about Spears’ ability to be a good parent. She is currently expecting her second child with husband Kevin Federline.
