No other South African would have been as happy as Nelson Mandela, when FIFA announced 2010 Soccer World Cup host country name. When Nelson Mandela urged World Football governing body FIFA that they should allow South Africa organize 2010 Soccer World Cup as a gift of 10th democratic anniversary of his nation, it was almost sure that FIFA has to think seriously on the humble case of Noble Price winner and the most famous prisoner in world Nelson Mandela. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born in a village near Umtata in the Transkei on the 18 July 1918. His father was the principal councillor to the Acting Paramount Chief of Thembuland. After death of his father, he was the supposed to get married and accept the the post of his late father, but his dream was to become lawyer, he was influenced by the stories of his great ancestors and their valor in war and in defense in protecting their fatherland. After receiving primary education, Nelson Mandela matriculated from Healdtown, a Wesleyan secondary school. He then enrolled at the University College of Fort Hare for the Bachelor of Arts Degree where he was elected onto the Student's Representative Council, from this point ahead Nelson Mandela’s political career began. He entered politics in earnest while studying in Johannesburg by joining the African National Congress in 1942. During World War II, Nelson Mandela and some youths gathered and formed a group under leadership of Anton Lembede.
There are numerous activities Nelson Mandela had joined and fought for, but it will be nearly impossible to give even introduction to each. There are many feathers of honor in the hat for this man. Nelson Mandela is referred father of nation (South Africa) today and in true manner he is a hero. Nelson Mandela had once stated "Struggle is my life" and truly he is one example for young people. Wherever he went, he never compromised his political principles, he rejected all the offers of freedoms at the cost of recognizing Transkei or renouncing violence, and he was a great source of strength for all those who stood with him.
