Nicole Kidman Confirms Romance

Kidman revealed that Urban is her fiancé at Saturday’s festivities in New York City. It was reported she said of Urban, "He’s actually my fiancé. I wouldn’t be bringing my boyfriend." The two were first spotted together in July 2005 and engagement rumors began running rampant. The two remained coy about their relationship until this past weekend. In November, Kidman was seen sporting what looked like an engagement ring and canoodling with Urban sparking rumors of an engagement. At the time, Urban’s rep said, "Right now it’s just a rumor."

Kidman and Urban met in January at a banquet honoring distinguished Australians in Los Angeles. They began dating that summer and have been spending as much time together as their schedules will allow. A source claims that Urban proposed on the set of Kidman’s movie The Visiting. Kidman was married to actor Tom Cruise for almost 10 years and they have two adopted children together. She has said that she would like to have a baby sometime in the near future. Maybe that is next up on the agenda for her and Urban.

Kidman became familiar with UNIFEM earlier this year after her mother told her about it. Said Kidman, My mother heard about a program on the BBC about what they were doing in Cambodia, and she taped it." Kidman says she chose to get involved with the organization because "they were doing something rather than just saying, oh this is so dire." Kidman is set to travel to India with UNIFEM this summer. She also supports a children’s hospital in her native Sydney, Australia.
