Michael has been in trouble in recent months for issues involving his vehicle. Now it has been reported that he fell asleep while at the traffic light. It was reported that the light changed four times before another driver tapped on his window and woke him up. The driver said, "He was sweating heavily and had his iPod on. That’s probably why he didn’t hear all the angry tooting behind him. He got going again, but was weaving all over the place. Then he hit a bollard. I doubt he even noticed it. He looked wasted. He just drove on."

Michael was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances in March after he was spotted slumped over the wheel of his car. Allegedly small amounts of cannabis and GHB a.k.a. Liquid Ecstasy was found in the car. Michael was feared "unfit to drive" by the police and taken into custody. After seven-hours the former Wham! singer was released on bail. He called the incident "his own stupid fault" and apologized to his fans.

About a month later, police questioned the singer after he slammed his car into three cars on a street near his London mansion and then drove off. His neighbors reported hearing the crash saw Michael driving away leaving car damaged. He reportedly returned and a neighbor said, He didn’t look too good." He then attempted to drive away a second time, hitting a second car, which slammed into a third car before driving off. His rep contacted authorities later in the day to report the incident and the police questioned Michael. A police spokesperson released the following statement, "The registered owner has now been spoken to. He was not arrested. He was interviewed under caution and a file will be submitted to the Metropolitan Police’s operational command unit." Nothing else came of the incident.
