Fifth Harry Potter Book Unfinished

J.K. Rowling, author of the famed Potter book series, has not finished her fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, for a summer release.
J.K. Rowling, author of the famed Potter book series, has not finished her fifth installment in a seven book series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, for a summer release. Rowling spokeswoman, Rebecca Salt, says there was never a specified time when the book was to be completed. She also stated that the book may not hit the shelves until 2003. Rowling released a book a year from 1997-2000 and it was expected that she would continue to do so to keep up with Harry’s seven years of school.

As reported on Eonline.com, Rowling’s British publishers said they were not expecting to have to wait until 2003. There have been reports that Rowling is suffering from a severe case of writer’s block. As stated on Eonline.com, Bloomsbury spokeswoman Rosamund Delahey said, "J.K. Rowling is happily writing a new book, and we anticipate publishing later this year." It seems that Scholastic, which publishes the novels, has said the process of editing, cover design and printing is the cause for delay.

This month marks the release of the DVD and video of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The movie was until recently the highest opening weekend record holder with an astonishing $90.3 million when it opened in November. Spider-Man recently took over that title with an estimated over-$100 million opening weekend. When the book was originally released overseas it went by the title Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
