Nicole Richie’s Simple Life

Richie doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. She is in trouble with the law for a drug bust, but she is off in the country taping The Simple Life. The Simple Life is a new reality series starring Richie and socialite/heiress Paris Hilton. The show focuses on how well the "society princesses" cope with life on a farm. It’s basically the Beverly Hillbillies in reverse. According to a source, Hilton and Richie will be seen "pulling calves, milking cows, picking grapes, waiting tables and working at different booths at the town’s Spring Gala."

Richie was arrested on February 27 when she was pulled over for outdated registration tags on her 76 Mercedes-Benz. Richie was alone in the car and reportedly told the police officers she did not have her license. The deputies then searched her wallet and found two balloons. A red balloon tied into a knot had a slit in it and was empty. A white balloon contained heroin. Richie faces a felony heroin charge and a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended license. She is due to be arraigned in court on June 6 in Los Angeles, after a no show at a previously scheduled arraignment on April 29.

It seems to be another classic case of socialites with too much too soon and nothing to do. Maybe working on a farm will instill some sort of values in these girls and help Richie detox. It’s not likely, however, considering that the girls are probably whisked away to luxurious digs as soon as filming ends everyday. Sources say Richie and Hilton have been very "stand-offish and snooty" and that they were overheard making fun of the people and surroundings on the show. Surprising? Hardly! These girls were given everything on a silver platter and have never had to want for anything. We can only wonder how long it took Richie to find a drug connection in Arkansas.
