My Cry To Save Him
Hoping to reach and out and remind him to remember to never forget who he is...
These are private words addressed to you in public.
If you leave me, if you go away
My greatest fear is that I will not know what to say.
Perhaps the truth will in fact be
That there is nothing to say, even by me.
Perhaps without you in the world
No one will cry, once they have heard.
Their tears, I think, will never come,
As each tear needs emotion behind it
to fall silently down a mourner’s face.
Though emotion may have lost it’s place
In the world you’d have left.
Without you all the laughter’s gone,
No tears to flow as they lead me to rest.
My greatest fear, if you are gone,
Is that their will be no words;
No chance to weep,
No chance to frown,
Nothing left, because you’re in the ground.
The leaves will stop growing,
so high in the trees, hidden in the mountains.
The rivers will stop flowing,
down to the oceans and lakes you once stood before and wept.
The world with you missing will not be a world.
The lives and the hope and the deserts so wide,
Nothing will be left of them
As nothing can move to a higher tide.
Once you’ve sunk so low,
You’ll think you must leave us.
But the moment you let go,
There will be no more us.
Nothing can fly
Higher than the sky,
If you’re not watching it
With your critical eye.
All your life you’ve let the breeze float on by you.
Did you ever think that you were the reason the breeze blows by?
All this time you’ve hated only yourself.
Will you ever wonder if the love of others was your stitching?
If you leave me here, I will have nothing to say.
No one will mourn, no one will pray.
Each part of you holds deeper what we feel.
If any part of you dies, it kills some of what’s real.
No one will even care that you’re gone,
Because if you’re gone,
We won’t remember how to care.
The emotion, the love, the magical ability,
It lives in you so strongly
That if you were gone, it will go,
And what will be left is nothing.
The ashes of your passion will blacken the moon.
Your laughter is what reminded the stars to shine,
So if your last laugh has past, they will flutter out and die.
No more Orion, no more Gods,
No more Southern Cross telling us the way.
No more of your crazy laughter
Leading us astray.
Every single tear you cried,
Of sadness, loss, even joy,
They kept all the streams flowing,
and the oceans moving all the tides.
Once your last tear has past, they will flitter away and no more cry.
I will not cry for you if you go.
I will not miss you.
I will not know.
I might just remember you as a spot from the past.
I’ll never understand how you changed me so fast.
No one will cry
No one will sing
Nothing shall start
and nothing we’ll bring.
All the directions will fall down away,
The South, the West
They’ll all fall to their rest.
The Northern snow will melt,
And the Arctic Mawson’s too.
Once you have left,
No more is love true.
Everyone will turn to angels,
or something else that cannot feel.
There will be no more wars over oil.
There will be no quarrels over anything actually real.
My greatest fear if you leave me is that I will have no words.
You own the words.
You rule the words.
Did you know the world is yours too?
We will all meet in street fights
And they’ll cut off both my wings.
Without the feathers to help me reach above
I’ll have nothing to live for,
Nothing to die for.
Nothing is left
If you leave me too soon.
If you leave me, if you go away
My greatest fear is that I will not know what to say.
Perhaps the truth will in fact be
That there is nothing to say, even by me.
