How to: place PPC search engine ads

How to effectively place cost per click web ads. With so many search engines (and price per click search engines) on the market it is becoming harder to tell the right way to market a web site.
With so many search engines (and price per click search engines) on the market it is becoming harder to tell the right way to market a web site. Organic listings (unpaid listings) are the most effective way to receive high return on investment, but not everybody knows how to do this.

For those who do not know how to list high in search engines there are price per click search engines that allow you to bid your way to the top. A few important rules should help you be successful in your price per click search engine quest.

1. Do not use general keywords. If you can not think of more specific keywords (key phrases of 2-3 words) to use, use a free tool such as Overtures keyword suggestion tool. Using more specific words will better target your price per click search engine traffic and lower the cost per click.

2. Try to use price per click search engines that are not the most expensive for your keywords. Using Overture will guarantee exposure, but you may be able to get the same clicks for half off or 10% of what you are paying with Overture and still receive quality clicks from other major price per click search engines. (Use search engines such as Ah-ha, ePilot, Kanoodle...)

3. Do not use overly obscure price per click search engines. I created this idea called the casino check. View the top bid for casino. If this bid is 5 cents or below, then the search engine is not developed yet. If they do not actively advertise the site then you will be doing nothing to help yourself spending $20 to list atop a site with no content or traffic. You can also check the traffic the web site gets using an independent web ranking site such as Alexa.

4. Frequently it is not worth paying to be the top price per click search engine listing. Being second or third you do not have to pay for that compulsive clicker that was going to click on anything. This lowers your cost per click price and allows your traffic to be more targeted from the price per click search engines.

5. For more information about search engines go to an expert like Jill Whalen, Danny Sullivan, or a novice web site like my own http://www.search-marketing.info

6. If you are going to launch a large advertising campaign consider reading Andrew Goodmans AdWords report or using professional software.

7. Have fun, if you are not then your users will not. Smile!!!

8. If you are not having fun you should be able to find it for 5 cents per click if you chose the right price per click search engines!
