Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick Expecting
It was announced Friday that Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are expecting their first child.
It was announced Friday by columnist Liz Smith, that Sex and the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker, and husband Matthew Broderick are expecting their first child in the fall. In May, Parker and Broderick will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. Despite many rumors that the couple was on the outs, Parker and Broderick seem to be going strong. Rumors began flying when Parker didn't thank Broderick during her acceptance speech when she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy. She was also allegedly seen cozying up to her Sex and the City co-star, John Corbett, on a number of different occasions.
No word on whether or not Parker's Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw will be pregnant as well. As reported on Eonline.com, it was announced Friday by HBO that production on the show will stop on April 10 "in order for HBO to evaluate its production schedule in light of [Parker's] recently announced pregnancy." It seems the season premier may be pushed back to July from its original scheduled June opener.
Broderick just ended a yearlong run in Mel Brooks' Tony award-winning stage version of The Producers. He co-starred with Nathan Lane and their last performance was in March. He will next be starring in a TV movie version of The Music Man, which will air on ABC next season. Hopefully, for now, the rumor mill will remain silent on reports that the couple are on the verge of breaking up...unless of course Broderick isn't the father. Hmmm...
