Forgetting the Good

How being hurt can cause you having to clear your mind of a thousand memories...
I'm trying to forget your face,
Forget your loving and warm embrace,
Forget how beautiful you made me feel,
How every wound you could heal,

I don't want to think about your smile,
Think about you always going the extra mile,
Think of the songs you shared with me,
Or the way you made my heart feel so free,

You're still all the way down there,
And I'm still sitting here alone,
Between us is about a thousand miles,
an envelope, the internet, a phone,

These days I don't really care,
That I am here, you are there,
Or at least that's what I like to say,
Hope I myself will believe it some day,

Because for some reason I can't explain,
I want to forget about all the pain,
Even though that means it's surroundings too,
Which are made up by my love for you,

You hurt me, deep, right at my core,
Caused tears I've never cried before,
So now I want to forget all of you,
That's all that bad, but the good too.
