Dravid Run-out Rocks India

India lost two early wickets after Asim Kamal's 73 gave Pakistan a lead of 202 in Lahore
India's stand-in captain Rahul Dravid was run-out without facing a ball as Pakistan took a firm grip on the second Test in Lahore.

At tea on the third day India were 15 for 2 in their second innings, still 187 behind, after Asim Kamal, the 27-year-old playing only his third Test, plundered a fighting 73 to take Pakistan to 489.

Kamal cracked seven fours and three sixes as he added 46 for the eighth wicket with Shoaib Akhtar (19) and 38 for the ninth with Umar Gul (14).

Indian seamer Irfan Pathan had earlier grabbed three quick wickets to peg Pakistan back after they resumed on their overnight 355 for 3 in reply to India's first innings 287.

The 19-year-old Pathan, who was wicketless over the first two days, trapped Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq for his overnight score of 118 in the first over.

Paceman Lakshmipathy Balaji struck from the other end, having vice-captain Yousuf Youhana (72) caught behind with a late outswinger.

Pathan then trapped Kamran Akmal lbw and knocked back Mohammad Sami's leg stump to reduce Pakistan to 386 for 7. Pathan's impressive spell of 3 for 11 from seven overs had brought India back into the match.

But Kamal, best-known for scoring 99 on his debut against South Africa at the Gaddafi Stadium last year, drove Pathan over his head for a six and punished leg-spinner Anil Kumble with a flurry of boundaries.

Shoaib fell pulling Kumble to Yuvraj Singh at mid-wicket and Gul, who struck three fours, was out hit wicket when he trod on his stumps while trying to pull occasional spinner Sachin Tendulkar.

Kumble then returned to have Kamal caught behind as Pakistan folded 50 minutes before tea. But the drama was only just beginning: first Akash Chopra fell lbw to Shoaib Akhtar, a borderline decision that Chopra was distinctly unimpressed with.

Then, off the last ball before tea, Dravid was run-out after a superb piece of fielding from Imran Farhat.
