Our Crystal Tears

I wrote this for me and a friend when we were depressed.
I loose my thoughts in a barrel of
pain and desolation, as I sit
thinking about you, picturing your tears

A profusion of liquid spilling
from your eyes and wetting your cheeks,
saddens my heart and darkens my soul.

In your eyes lay a story
as you place your hand in mine
I fall to the ground,
swallowed by your pain

Your tears are infectious
in my heart, an eternal burning flame
trying to catch your eye
waiting for you, screaming for you,

The pain I can take no more
I can’t sit any longer
and as my last tear falls
I start to read the story in your eyes

When I scream, so do you
when I cry, so do you
my sorrow is a mere pigment of your pain
when we stumble, you fall

And as you place your hand in mine
I fall to the ground,
swallowed by your pain, forever more
the flame still burns

In your hand will forever be mine
and in our eyes
the crystal tear still sits,
soon to be awakened by this darkened soul
