Business Networking, the new mantra for making friends

What I thought was simply a mixer (yes! Believe me that’s what it is called!) for allowing people of similar interests to mix, actually turned out to be an opportunity of sorts. I was quite amazed at the manner in which we all mix; I mean make friends! Here I was at a get-together with people coming in from different walks of life, occasionally giving you a smirk and while sipping from their cups of tea, went about to strike a conversation. Later while I kind of understood the dynamics of this all was I able to understand that all of this formed a part and parcel of what was known as Business Networking.

Finding the right people
While finding the right person on the job is as important for the person to be retained by the company and for him to be loyal, in our age, nine our of ten people think of switching jobs, the minute they complete a year in the organization. The reason being that while it’s important for one to understand and remain in an organization for a sizeable amount of time, it’s also important for one t know of the individual growth prospects. So what do the human resources personnel do in such cases? Of late there have been a variety of word-of-mouth requests. After all it’s also a matter of the right people being a part of the esteemed organization. Business Networking comes to the rescue in this case. While attending get-togethers has always been fun, Business Networking adds a dash of seriousness associated with the headhunting process!

Making the right moves

If you’re looking out for a job or even are looking out for fun, these get-togethers are a place to hang out at, literally! Having a blast with friends is not something new, but meeting like-minded people over a cup of coffee means that you connect with the right people under a forum, wherein you can possibly make friends forever! And because placing someone in your organization is as much a responsibility as yours as it may be theirs to prove themselves there has been a spate of meetings where there’s a massive networking taking place too. And while you’re already hooked on to these, it’s also interesting to find out the plethora of jobs that are existent and the many courses you might want to indulge in professionally speaking. What used to be earlier known as the method of understanding your place in the sun, there’s a lot that goes into organizing these as well! For instance while these meets may include people from different work cultures, you can allow all your ideas to flow through and draft some serious methods of unwinding too!!

Moreover, today while possessing a good network is as important as the oxygen that we breathe, it’s also interesting to note that you are more aware of the world around you! So socializing apart, where we would probably look for opportunities, to either party or even mingle with people of the same caliber, Business Networking throws up, three important aspects; People, Network and Contacts! And these sure go a long way! I can vouch for this as in the world that we have grown up a lot has changed from the last time that we experienced the heat! Whatever do I mean? Well, the contacts that we make today help us in going a long way, as relatives may or may not be trusted, a known face or a known acquaintance could possibly reach out faster than our loved ones could!!
