Girl and Boy

Girl was only fourteen then,
Boy was nearly sixteen,
Girl had long crimson hair,
Boy's hair was short and clean,
Girl came from a dysfunctional home,
Boy was his parent's only child,
Girl liked art, and nature, and music,
Boy liked to know where each file was filed,
Girl believed that love was true,
Boy thought it a waste of money,
Girl looked for a smile on every face,
Boy never found laughter too funny,
Girl was going to travel the world,
Boy was to tell the judges lies,
Girl wanted to see the sun set,
Boy wanted to see the stocks rise,
Girl met Boy on a crowded street,
Boy thought Girl was a bit insane,
Girl asked Boy if he knew about faeries,
Boy said he always traveled by plane,
Girl found Boy's ways fascinating,
Boy thought Girl had a pretty face,
Girl brought Boy to a mountain summit,
Boy had never been to such a place,
Girl took Boy's hand in her own,
Boy kissed Girl upon her rosy cheek,
Girl kissed Boy on his tightened lips,
Boy fell in love on a mountain peak,
Girl told Boy that he was someone,
Boy told Girl that he was a machine,
Girl told Boy that she could see his soul,
Boy asked Girl what she had seen,
Girl said Boy could be a poet,
Boy said Girl should open her eyes,
Girl wanted Boy to write the words of his spirit,
Boy felt he'd be unfulfilled when he dies,
Girl said Boy needed to think about everything,
Boy tried to think about a mathematical range,
Girl knew he could only think of love,
Boy knew life was about to change,
Girl asked Boy if he would join her,
Boy led the way to their new home,
Girl is now a passionate artist,
Boy has written many a beautiful poem.
