A Sonnet

I once had a dream
In a place where the moon did gleam

I was in my tomb so set to lay
For what a solemn place to say

Then my love came to me without fear
Took his lips and whispered in my ear

" Let me take you away,
Far across the sea.
To a far better place,
Where you and I can be."

And with those words of passion
And one true loving kiss
I awoke from my dismal sleep
And slipped into a tranquil bliss

For I was with my love now
And nothing could take him away
Until our tragic end,
Until our dying day.

We walked together in happiness
And the sadness melted into the past
For forever we shall be together
And forever our love shall last.
