Lindsay Lohan Biography
Lindsay Lohan is one of the brightest stars on Hollywood horizon. She gave everyone a glimpse of her immense talent in "Parent Trap." Lindsay has also embarked on a career in music.
Lindsay Lohan (pronounced low-han) was born on 2 July 1986 to Dina and Michael Lohan. Dina Lohan was a Radio City "Rockette" and Wall Street analyst before she took up managing Lindsay’s career full-time. Michael was a Wall Street trader who developed, then sold, his family's multi-million-dollar pasta business. The money was used to fund and develop independent Hollywood productions. Lindsay also has three younger siblings - Michael, Dakota and Aliana.
Lindsay started early. By the time she was three years old she was already acting in commercials. Lindsay was the first redheaded child ever signed by the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency. Out of the 60 commercials that she shot, the more prominent ones were for Pizza Hut, Wendy's, Jell-O and The Gap. Lindsay ahs also modelled for Abercrombie & Fitch Kids and Calvin Klein Kids. In 1996 she was selected as the third actress to play Alexandra "Alli" Fowler.
The defining moment in Lindsay’s fledgling career came when she was selected to play the parts of both twins in the 1998 remake of the classic Disney movie, The Parent Trap. The movie was a box-office success and Lindsay’s talent made the critics sit up and take notice. She won a Young Artist Award for Leading Actress along with Stepmom's Jena Malone, and nominations for a YoungStar Award and a Blockbuster Entertainment Award. After the success of Parent Trap, she was hot property in Hollywood. Lindsay went on a movie-signing spree. She starred in another remake of the seventies – "Freaky Friday." This one starred Jamie Lee Curtis while Lindsay reprised the role played by Jodie Foster.
Lindsay was always interested in becoming a singer. Her movie successes had opened the gates for her. She signed up with one of the most famous agents in the business, Emilio Estefan, Jr. Estefan Enterprises announced a five-album production deal that would attempt to get Lindsay’s "pop with a rock edge" sold to a major record label. Lindsay eventually signed up with Casablanca Records. Her album, Speak, was issued on December 7, 2004, and reached #4 on the Billboard charts. The first single is called "Rumors". One of her songs called "Ultimate" featured on the original sound track of "Freaky Friday."
In 2004 Lindsay starred in "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" where she plays a spoil self absorbed kid living in New York. Her life turns topsy-turvy when she has to move into the suburbs. She also starred in "Mean Girls" where she is incessantly bullied in school but gives it back in style. There are at least three movies lined up in 2005, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Dramarama and Gossip Girl.
In true Hollywood style, Lindsay has had a long-standing feud with her arch rival Hilary Duff. Both of them have dated Aaron Carter and Lindsay got the part in "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" after it was written for Hilary. There were rumors that Hilary and her mother tried to get Lindsay kicked out of a movie premiere.
Lindsay has had a few problems with the media. The paparazzi managed to get an accidental shot of her breasts. They fuelled rumors that Lindsay had got breast implants done. Her father Michael’s antics have gotten her bad publicity. In July 2004 he was arrested for skipping out on a $3,800 hotel bill. This came after an arrest and subsequent assault charge after an altercation with his brother-in-law at a family party. Michael Lohan pleaded guilty to a charge of assault against a NYC sanitation worker after which he was sentenced to anger management classes. In February of 2005, Michael Lohan was charged with driving while intoxicated when he ran a friend's car into a telephone pole, causing an electrical outage for over 1700 people on Long Island.
When she is not working Lindsay Lohan enjoys gymnastics, swimming, roller blading, reading, and playing with her siblings. She has dated Aaron Carter and That '70s Show star, Wilmer Valderrama in the past. Lohan is involved in charity projects such as The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation, Save the Children, The United Cerebral Palsy Association. She also has her own charity organization called Dream Come True. The future is there for the taking for Lindsay Lohan.
