The New York Yankees ate the Minnesota Twins alive on Sunday, winning 15-1.

The Twins are 0-12 in the past twelve games against the Yankees, and were looking for a victory to end that streak. They came out looking pretty good, but things changed in the third inning.

New York's Erick Almonte hit a triple to right-center field, and then scored on an error by the Twins.

The Yankees' next batter, Nick Johnson, drove the ball into the seats in right field.

Going into the top of the fourth with a commanding 3-0 lead, Alfonso Soriano stepped to the dish with bases loaded and two outs, then tanked one into the right field seats for his seventh home run of the year, and his 17th, 18th,19th and 20th RBI's of the season.

Then, Jason Giambi flew out to right to end the inning.

In the top of the fifth, the Yankees would continue to pile on the runs, all of which came off singles. The Yankees would get four more runs, to take an 11-0 lead.

New York's David Wells threw a gem in the bottom of the fifth, and in the top of the sixth. But, the Twins held the Yanks scoreless in the sixth as well.

It wouldn't take the Yankees much longer to cross home plate again though, as Johnson went yard in the seventh for his second home run of the game.

Then Wells went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the seventh, while the Yankees would go 1-2-3 in the top of the eighth.

With the game almost over, left fielder, Dustan Mohr of the Twins went deep off Wells, but that would be all the Twins would get.

The Yankees would tack on three more runs in the ninth, with a two run homer coming of the bat of Bernie Williams.

Wells would go on to close out the game in the ninth, giving the Yankees their 15h win of the season.
