Salma Hayek & Edward Norton Done?

It seems that the couple has been fighting recently over the fact that Hayek can’t stay out of the spotlight. Camera-shy Norton is said to have given her an ultimatum to get over herself or they are through. A source says that the couple was seen arguing after the Oscars at a post show party. The couple attended the Vanity Fair party at Morton’s, where they argued briefly before Norton headed for the door. Hayek’s mood lightened considerably, according to the source, after his departure and she carried on until the end of the party.

Hayek and Norton reportedly got into it at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last month. Sources say Norton remained "sullen" and in the background as Hayek remained in the spotlight. Both camps deny any problems in the relationship, but people close to the couple say they are very different and they butt heads over their careers and her need to be the center of attention at all times. In a 1997 interview with Movieline magazine, Hayek was quoted as saying, "I have gotten a lot more attention than other women that I find incredibly beautiful. And this has happened to me ever since I was a girl, when I was flat, had no teeth, was skinny and small as I could be. I always got more attention than anyone else. If I hadn’t, I would have made sure I did." She sure sounds like someone who likes the spotlight.

There were reports that Norton and Hayek, who have been dating for four years, were secretly married a few months back. A rep for Hayek denied the reports, but many wonder if they actually did get married. They seem like the couple least likely to. Maybe if the rumors are true about their incompatible camera styles, she just may end up standing in the spotlight alone.
