An Empty Love Song

I listen to what was reminiscent...An empty love song
I heard a love song today
And searched for the meaning to my life

I heard a love song today
The words were not similar to mine

I heard a love song today
And wanted to belong to love

I heard a love song today, and realized I had no one to love
As my heart cried… I fought back the useless tears

I tried to fantasize of a pretender...
To fall in love with this song

The love song sang of a deep love… passion
Words I no longer knew

So I listen to what was reminiscent
An empty love song
