Baywatch Reunion Scheduled

After more than a year of speculation, David Hasselhoff has finally secured a deal for a primetime Baywatch reunion, which will air on Fox.
PageSix.com is reporting that David Hasselhoff has locked in to a primetime sweeps week special with Fox, which will bring all of our favorite lifesaving beauties back to the beach for one more run. "We've got a TV movie for Fox," Hasselhoff said Sunday. "It's a two-hour (show) that'll air in (November) sweeps." Hasselhoff continued, "Right now we're trying to put the pieces together to bring it to Hawaii." Hasselhoff, the movie's producer, said the cast will feature 20 actors from the "Baywatch" and "Baywatch Hawaii" shows.

"It's basically just kind of an opportunity to get everybody together and have some fun here in Hawaii," he said. Hasselhoff appeared infrequently on the Hawaii version of his wildly successful star vehicle, rarely making an appearance after the show switched to the South Pacific shooting destination in 1998. For the nine years prior, Hasselhoff was a fixture on the set of Baywatch, presiding over the tenures of such international sex symbols as Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Yasmine Bleeth, and Nicole Eggert, just to name a few.

Although the series was cancelled in February 2001, it lives on in waves of syndication around the world – and the demand for "Baywatch" skin and silly plot lines remains as high as ever. Last October, Hasselhoff said he was having trouble assembling the cast for the movie. At the time, a Fox network representative said the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks had caused problems with travel and hotel deals. The problems all seem to have been worked out and we can all look forward to at least one more original "Baywatch" episode.
