Edward Burns and Christy Turlington Split

Edward Burns and Christy Turlington have decided to end their relationship a little more than a year after the two became engaged.
Actor-writer-director Edward Burns and supermodel Christy Turlington have decided to call off their wedding a little more than a year after the two became engaged. As reported in US Weekly, the two were "going in different directions" and decided to go their separate ways about a month ago. It has been reported in the New York Post that the reason for the breakup was an "issue of compatibility" and there was no "third-party" involvement.

Burns and Turlington postponed their planned nuptials last October after the September 11th tragedy. It was reported that Bono was going to give away the bride. A "friend" was quoted as saying, "They respect and care deeply about one another but they decided they weren’t each other’s perfect life partners." No comment was available from either of their publicists, but it was reported that Burns was seen at "several Oscar parties alone" and was later reportedly seen getting cozy with model Esther Canadas.

Before becoming a twosome, Edward Burns was engaged to actress Heather Graham with whom he costarred in Sidewalks of New York, but they broke up shortly before Turlington cat-walked into the picture. He has also dated actress Lauren Holly, who appeared in his 1998 film No Looking Back and his high school sweetheart, Maxine Bahns, who starred in his films She’s the One and The Brothers McMullen. Turlington dated actor Jason Patric for five years, and was also linked to actor Christian Slater and screenwriter Roger Wilson.
