Loneliness is Love

If not for loneliness would love even exist?
Speak to me not of that sweet love
That lingers like paradise in your smile
Nor attempt to succour me with your kindness
For I need neither healing nor warmth.
I drift here in the silence
I drown in the cold
And in this place
I am at home

Let me alone now
Let me drown in my dreams
Let me fly in the endless blue
And forgive me for my love
Of solitude

I would come to you if I could
I would love you
But I know only this solitary self
And I do not want to die

Perhaps when you have grown weary of trying to find me
Then we shall meet
In our loneliness.
