Title: Sammy and The Wabo’s Live-Hallelujah
Genre: Rock-Pop
Label: Sanctuary Records
The Red Rocker Sammy Hagar…now that is a name that is synonymous with rock ‘n’ roll. Hagar has played with Montrose and Van Halen and had a great solo career. Yup, the kid has been around the block and back and he has a successful track record to prove it. This CD is a testament to that legacy.
Sammy and The Wabo’s Live-Hallelujah album covers his career from "Rock Candy" to "When It’s Love" all the way to the recent "Mas Tequila." This album is loaded with the energy of a live Hagar performance. There are the over the top loud guitars, Sammy’s trademark raspy voice, and an appreciative crowd loving every minute of it.
Seventeen tracks is a lot of music and just enough to touch upon each phase of Hagar’s career. I made me realize how many great songs the man has performed over the years. Oh by the way, now it’s "I Can’t Drive 65," well, the speed limit has gone up since, and he had to update it for the crowd.
This is not a great live album but its good. It’s all 100% Hagar rockin’ the house, which is good enough for me. After all, we are talking about the Red Rocker here not Pavarotti, so loosen up throw on the CD and have a party! Long live rock, be it dead or alive!
