Pamela Anderson: Kid Rock and Anderson Engaged

Anderson’s publicist confirmed Friday that after his concert at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Kid Rock (a.k.a. Robert Ritchie) proposed to girlfriend Pamela Anderson Thursday night in the Las Vegas desert. Anderson accepted his proposal, but no wedding date has been set. The couple has been dating since last April. The news of the engagement comes less than one month after Anderson broke the news that she is suffering from hepatitis C, which can cause liver damage and is possibly life-threatening. As reported on Eonline.com, a spokeswoman for Anderson said "she is feeling fine, very healthy and very ecstatic about getting married."

This will mark Anderson’s second trip down the aisle. Anderson and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee were married in 1995 after a five-day courtship. Their relationship was rocky to say the least. She filed for divorce less than a year later, they rekindled their romance and she withdrew the petition. She refiled the claim in 1998; they briefly reconciled in 1999, but separated shortly thereafter. The two are currently involved in a bitter custody battler over their two children, Brandon, 5, and Dylan, 3. Anderson claims she caught hepatitis C from sharing an infected tattoo needle with Lee. He refutes the claim and his publicist says that the announcement was a "clear attack" on Lee that is "only doing more harm to her children."

Kid Rock has also faced a nasty custody battle. Kid Rock faced off against his ex-girlfriend and mother of his son in court in 2000. Russell claimed constant touring meant the child was more often than not left with a nanny. She also claimed that Kid refused to let her see her son on a regular basis. He currently shares joint custody of his 8 year-old son with Russell. Anderson has said that Kid is prime husband material. In an interview with Extra in February, Anderson said of Kid, "He is the best person I have ever met. He’s got the whole thing. He’s the rock star, the father, lover, sweetheart. We both have children, and that’s really our priority, our kids."
