Ozzy Osbourne: Out with The Osbournes, in with P. Diddy?
MTV, reeling from the success of the reality hit The Osbournes, is looking for the next celebrity to place in front of the cameras. It was reported on Entertainment Tonight that singers P. Diddy and Brandy are being considered for the next go-round of reality TV. No word yet from Brandy's camp, but sources confirmed that P. Diddy is talking with the network about a possible project.
As for now, The Osbournes continue to draw huge ratings. Last Tuesday drew 5 million viewers, marking that episode the third most-watched program of the week on cable. Currently, the network is in talks with Ozzy and Sharon about a possible second season. It is certainly amusing to see Ozzy and Co. (including daughter, Kelly, and son, Jack. The oldest daughter opted to not be part of the series) in a family setting. During the original 30-minute episode, dialog had to be "bleeped" out 59 times. Sharon has said, "We all learned a lot about ourselves - that we swear too much and have bad tempers."
It is interesting to see those who live their life in the limelight and who led what others may consider a charmed and glamorous life pick up after their pets, deal with curfews, and take out the trash. The success of The Osbournes seems to lie within Ozzy himself, who at times seems a mere parody of his former self. Just a quick glimpse into the everyday lives of stars and the never ending question of "what do they do every day?" Who's up next? From Ozzy to P. Diddy, it'll be interesting to compare.
