Lara Out for 10 Days
Brian Lara has fractured his little finger and will miss the start of the one-day series against England.
Brian Lara will miss the first two One Day Internationals against England after being ruled out for 10 days with a fractured finger.
The West Indies captain has been told by doctors that the fractured little finger on his right hand will not heal properly unless he rests from the competition.
Lara picked up the injury during the first Test against England at Sabina Park and continued as the West Indies fought off a strong England challenge, but with the series over sought medical advice for the constant pain.
The new world record holder for individual score in Test cricket will still travel to Guyana with the rest of the squad today, but will sit out at least the first two ODIs on Sunday 18 and Saturday 24 April.
