Katie Holmes: Scientologist

Cruise has announced that their little one sat to make his or her debut any day now will not be Baptized despite Holmes’ Catholic upbringing. Cruise told Diane Sawyer in an interview set to air Friday, "You can be Catholic and be a Scientologist. You can be Jewish and be a Scientologist. But we’re just Scientologists." It was known that Holmes was taking some Scientology course, but until this interview it has never been revealed that she had decided to make Scientology her religion. It is really not all that surprising considering since she began dating Cruise, Holmes has pretty much followed his lead and become his puppet.

There have been many reports that Holmes’ parents, Martin and Kathleen, are less than please with their daughters decision to turn her back on her Catholic upbringing and subscribe to the Scientology beliefs. Cruise slams those rumors. When asked if her parents approved of Scientology Cruise responded, "Absolutely, yes." He also added that he is close with "the whole family."

As far as the "silent birth" Cruise backtracks and explains that there was a misunderstanding surrounding whether or not Holmes can make a sound during the delivery. Said Cruise, "The mother makes as much noise…you know, she’s going through it." He then says it is about "respecting the mother" and the "silent birth" is to "minimize talk and other noise inside the delivery room." As for medication, Cruise said, "She does what she’s gotta do…If she needs medicine, she needs medicine." He also went on to say that they "can’t wait" to get married. The marriage is reportedly set for this summer.
