Paula Abdul: Liar?

Sources say that Paula Abdul is being less than straight up about a recent story that she was abused at a club.

A few weeks ago Abdul filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department claiming that she was assaulted by a man, later identified as CAA agent Jim Lefkowitz, at Los Angeles hotspot Xenii during a private after-hours party. Abdul claimed she was grabbed by the arm and thrown against a wall. She says the alleged assault resulted in " a concussion and spinal injuries." Now sources say that Abdul "concocted" the story to cover up the fact that she was thrown out of the party for being too drunk. An eyewitness said that Abdul looked "drunk" and "out of it." Another source said she was "falling down drunk."

Michael Nasatir, Lefkowitz’s lawyer, said, "The press accounts of the so-called altercation between Jim Lefkowitz and Paula Abdul at Xenii last Sunday morning are completely outrageous and utterly false. Mr. Lefkowitz did not have an argument with Ms. Abdul nor did he have any physical contact with her whatsoever…he was merely an innocent bystander at an unfortunate incident." There has been no word from Abdul’s camp about the allegations.

Sources say that Abdul has been acting very weird lately and there have been a lot of stories about her abusing drugs and alcohol. Although Abdul recently signed a new contract with American Idol for another three years, there was rumors that the producers were fed up with her and were looking to replace her as an AI judge. She also recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and poked fun of herself and the fact that everyone thinks she drinks all the time, but did say the jokes hurt her feelings. No doubt the jokes aren’t going to stop, Paula, so you better get used to it!
