Donald Trump has labeled The Apprentice 3 contestant Chris Shelton a "hot head" and it seems that Shelton is living up to the moniker. Shelton apparently suffered a major meltdown over a $20 cover charge. The Las Vegas real estate investor and millionaire joined several of the other contestants from the show to celebrate fired candidate John Gafford’s birthday at the Hotel. Shelton, 22, reportedly became "irate" when the hotel’s nightclub tried to charge him a $20 cover and refused to let him in for free. According to the police report, Shelton caused a scene in the lobby, yelling and cursing. The report stated that "there were several patrons in the area who were visibly shaken by his actions. After several attempts to calm Shelton, he continued to yell and curse, refusing to calm down and stop causing a scene."
Apparently, Shelton was asked twice by a police officer on the scene to calm down, but allegedly continued his tirade before being taken into custody at approximately 3:30 A.M. Reportedly he was then placed behind bars at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department and was released on $250 bond shortly before noon on Sunday. Gafford, who was not there when Shelton was arrested, calls the reports "ludicrous." Said Gafford, "The hotel handled the situation very poorly from top to bottom." Shelton reportedly had already paid $2,000 for a room at the hotel and didn’t feel as if he should be charged a $20 cover charge. A $20 cover charge at the hotel’s nightclub would have been better than a $250 "cover charge" at the fancy schmancy Hillsborough Police Department.
An NBC spokesman said, "We don’t really have any comment. This is clearly a private matter for Chris." Shelton’s anger issues have been evident during each episode of The Apprentice. Shelton has been in the boardroom more often than not and has been called out numerous times by the Donald for his anger issues. Trump said, "He’s got a problem. He’s got an anger management problem. We talked about it on the show. He truly is an angry guy."
