Paltrow’s rep confirmed that Moses was born over the weekend at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Reportedly, Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Martin named the baby after a song called Moses that Martin wrote for his wife in 2003. Paltrow and Martin have a daughter, Apple, who will be two next month. No details of the birth such as Moses’ height or weight have been released yet.

Paltrow and Martin met in 2002 backstage after a Coldplay concert at London’s Wembley Stadium. They were married in a hush-hush wedding in December 2003, a week after it was confirmed that she was expecting their first child. Shortly after the birth of her daughter, Paltrow appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and said she did not understand why there was such talk about her naming her daughter Apple. Paltrow said Martin suggested the name after they found out she was expecting. Paltrow said, "It conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they’re wholesome and it’s biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and…clean. And I just thought, ‘Perfect!’"

After months of keeping her second pregnancy under wraps, Lou Diamond Phillips let the cat out of the bag after a Screen Actors Guild screening of Paltrow’s latest movie Proof. He introduced her as "a pregnant woman." He also asked, "How far along are you?" Paltrow said, "Far enough along to feel very cumbersome." During an interview in December, Gwyneth’s mom Blythe Danner let it slip that she was going to be a grandmother again the spring. She also said, "I hope there’ll be more fruits and vegetables coming along since we’re all pretty much vegetarians." Well, Blythe, you didn’t end up with a Turnip Martin or a Rutabega Martin…but you got a Moses!
