Survivor: Love in the Australian Outback
Surprisingly enough, the most intriguing romance of Survivor 2: The Australian Outback only involved one of the show's cast members.
The pint-sized Survivor contestant that has captured the hearts of many of the millions of Survivor watchers around the world is named Elisabeth Filarski. Unlike most of the contestants on the show, Elisabeth was in it for much more than a chance at $1 million in prize money. She planned on using the time away from civilization as a personal test - one that would determine whether or not she was meant to be with her boyfriend of 4 years, Boston College quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. Elisabeth informed her gridiron gladiator that she needed the time alone to reflect on whether or not he was the man that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Tim didn't seem to have the same questions, but was very supportive and sent her off knowing that he understood what she was going through.
Insiders say that it was not long after the contestants touched down in Australia that Elisabeth realized how much she missed Tim and that her idea may have been a huge mistake. Although she struggled with her homesickness, Elisabeth was able to pull herself together with the help of Rodger Bingham, a fellow contestant and confidant. Friends of Tim and Elisabeth say that they are happier than ever and that wedding bells may be ringing before the end of the year.
