Stop Trying To Change Him

What she is quoting is Philipians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me;" but what she didn't remember is that Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who findeth a wife findeth a good thing," not "She who findeth a husband ..." What we as women should concentrate on is making ourselves ready for a husband, just as the Bride of Christ has to be ready for her husband (Jesus) when He comes.

But we tend to think we can find a man and change him into what we want him to be! No my sisters, this is what Jezebel tried to do to Ahab (read I Kings chapter 16-22 for the story). You may think you are helping, but you are hurting both yourself and him. WWJD stands for What Would Jesus Do, not What Would Jezebel Do! You cannot change him, so stop trying. Trying to change a man yourself is manipulation, and manipulation is witchcraft! Your only duty is to introduce a man to Jesus, then let Jesus tug at his heart with a desire to change into the man that Jesus will have him become, not who you will have him become.

Also, whenever witnessing to a man, try to have another man present, so as to avoid letting the spirits of lust and deception creep up on you and make you think the brother is interested in hearing about Jesus, when in actuality he is interested in you and 'your goodies!'

Control your flesh, and leave the brother alone. Concentrate on Jesus. Make yourself ready, and in due season the Lord will send your husband to seek you, and he will have all the qualities you desire in a man. You won't have to change him, for the Lord knows the desires of your heart. Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (Psalm 37:4)
