American Idol Boots Corey Clark
Corey Clark is the latest American Idol contestant to have the skeletons in his closet come back to haunt him.
Recent reports say that Corey Clark is due in court next month on assault charges stemming from an incident in October. Clark was arrested after a neighbor called the police after hearing screaming coming from Clark’s family home in Topeka, Kansas. Clark and his 15-year old sister were questioned separately and Clark reportedly became extremely agitated. He screamed and yelled at the officers and was subsequently "body-checked" to the ground, handcuffed and placed in a squad car.
Clark spent three days in the Shawnee County jail and was charged with battery of his sister and four police officers and child endangerment, which are all misdemeanors. He was released on bail and ordered to stay away from his sister. Clark was arraigned in December on three misdemeanor charges in Kansas District Court: resisting arrest, battery of his sister and criminal restraint. If he is found guilt of the first two counts, he faces a year in jail with an additional six months behind bars if convicted of the third charge.
He is due in court on April 15, a day he is supposed to sing live on Idol. Fox has not yet commented on the latest scandal and usually refuses to comment on the contestant’s private lives. Who decides which charges are worthy of kicking someone out of the contest? Porno Frenchie – out. Sticky Fingers Trenyce – in. KO Corey – out. Was there this much scandal last year? At the rate they are going, there aren’t going to be any contestants left to be the American Idol. Maybe they could change the name to American Jailbird. It’s kind of catchy. Wait…I think I can hear producers scrambling to come up with the premise behind American Jailbird.
