Ashton & Brittany Splitsville?

It has been reported that during a charity event on March 15th, Kutcher was asked if he would be marrying his girlfriend of five months, Brittany Murphy, and he responded with a quick, "No!" About a week later, sources noted that the usually lovey-dovey couple "weren’t very affectionate." No official word yet on the status of their relationship, but it seems there may be trouble in paradise.

The couple met over a year ago on the set of their movie Just Married, but didn’t go public until October of this year. Once they went public, they went public. They were spotted all over the place and usually all over each other. Maybe they mistook lust for love and things don’t usually remain rosy in lust land. Kutcher did introduce Murphy to his family and they reportedly gave her a thumbs-up. Murphy has a habit of falling for her co-stars. She was last linked with Eminem, who she co-starred with in 8 Mile, but that didn’t last very long. Mr. Mathers eventually dumped her over his cell phone.

Maybe Kutcher just has his hands full with his television and movie career and his new MTV series, Punk’d. Maybe their Hollywood romance just ran its course. Or, maybe they were just having an off day. It is much more fun to believe they are on the verge of breaking up, rather than acknowledging they are regular people just like us. Rest assured, if they are actually breaking up … Murphy and Kutcher will have no problems moving on to the "next big thing."
