Nick Carter Blames Arrest on Antibiotics
Backstreet Boy Nick Carter blames his arrest for suspicion of drunk driving on doctor-prescribed medication.

Nick Carter, 25, was arrested at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night in Huntington Beach, California after leaving a restaurant. The police allege that Carter was driving erratically and he was given a sobriety test, which he reportedly failed. At that point, police arrested Carter and booked him on a misdemeanor DUI charge and impounded his vehicle. Carter was released several hours later, but he now blames his medication. His rep said in a statement, "Nick Carter deeply regrets the current situation. He is on doctor-prescribed medication and was unaware of its interaction possibilities." No official word on what he was reportedly taking. It was reported that police formally charged Carter Tuesday with one count of driving under the influence and one count of driving with a blood alcohol level over 0.08.
This is not the first time Carter has been arrested. Carter was cuffed in January 2002 after reportedly failing to follow an officer’s order to leave a nightclub after a fight broke out. He cut a deal and avoided jail time by paying a fine, doing community service, and promising to stay out of trouble. Recently, Carter came under scrutiny after his ex, Paris Hilton, was photographed sporting some mean bruises on her arms and face shortly after they called it quits. Just last month, the younger Carter, Aaron, claimed that his big bro was the one to give Hilton her "love marks." Said Aaron, "He hit her. And he hit me." The elder Carter denies the incident.
Lucky for us, Carter is reuniting with his Backstreet Boys for a 13-city tour. The tour begins in New York on March 21. Their new album is slated to be released this summer and is the first effort from the group since 2000’s Black and Blue. This time around, instead of selling out large arenas, the group will perform in more "intimate club venues."
