Women’s Day! A man’s nightmare!

Woman’s Day, the current scene:
Of late, we’ve noticed the increasing importance of Woman’s Day! Much to the scornful observation of men, I still think Women’s day is not given Justice to, well, not entirely!! Over the years when women have proved their mettle in every possible field, some of us, well, lets put it as all of us can sit back and savour the accomplishments of the fairer sex!

Almost all of the men who were questioned about their view of Women’s day felt that a day like this one was rather unnecessary. After all don’t we have Mother’s Day for that! Still others felt that a woman’s role in each one’s life is so touched upon the million roles that she plays including the one related to her being a born humanitarian, that it’s difficult to let her efforts go unnoticed. No wonder the phrase, "a man’s work ends with the setting of the Sun; a woman’s work is never done!" Well, we’re not talking about her roles here though! The question is, do we really need a Woman’s Day to prove her importance.

A Thankless job of being a Woman:
Yes and No! Yes because her thankless jobs need to be recognized, appreciated and applauded, necessarily in that manner! And no because, despite us having a million Women’s Days, there are still some who have yet to be recognized in the light of the day! A man gets all he wants by simply ordering it, a woman has to demand for it, even though it may be once in a year! Frankly women get their due most often because of some reason. The incorrigible male can bear a day of this sort just once in the year, just enough for him to endure its effect, lasting 24 hours. In many parts of the world, it has been observed that Women’s Day is but a ploy (as per the male mind!) to get away with the mundane routine tasks of life. It’s the constant ringing of a woman’s triumph that is most despicable for most men.

Does Woman’s Day really have a Future?:
Lets take an example. In a perfectly disciplined setting where the nuclear family is doing pretty well, there is this sudden upsurge in the environment. Perhaps there is a baby sick somewhere, so who takes the day off? The mother of course, the man is too busy and this is too petty an issue for him to be reminded of his fatherhood Rights!! As some men would put it, women’s day thankfully is for only 24 hours at least within that stipulated period of time, women are given the amount of respect. And as nothing lasts forever, neither shall this one! In some of the Asian and Middle East countries, its women’s day everyday….And for obvious reasons!! So we come back to our question, is it really a nightmare for men to understand and respect? Isn’t Women’s Day a celebration of that extra special rib that she was created from? Can we really stand up and applaud her roles and responsibilities with at least a "thank-you" or is it really too much to ask for?
