Anne Heche and husband, Coley Laffoon, welcomed their first child - a boy- over the weekend named Homer Heche Laffoon. Monday, Heche’s spokesman confirmed that Heche delivered Homer on Saturday at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital and that he weighed in at an even 7 pounds. He said, "Parents and baby are doing fine." Heche and Laffoon met on a documentary she was directing of her then lover’s, Ellen DeGeneres, return to stand up comedy. Heche, 32, and Laffoon, 27, tied the knot last September.
Heche has had a crazy couple of years. She has written a book, Call Me Crazy, and during an interview with Barbara Walters she explained that she had developed another personality named "Celestia." She said, "I believed I was from another planet. I think I was insane." She explains her "brush" with "The Fourth Dimension" in her book and also claims to have spoken another language. She had a much publicized "meltdown" in Fresno, California when she appeared on a doorstep mumbling incoherently. Heche said she was wandering through Fresno waiting for a "spaceship" to pick her up. She was hopped up on Ecstasy and was taken to a hospital.
She seems to have her life back on track with a new husband and new baby. ABCNEWS.com states she says she was "insane" for a good part of her life. Is she all of a sudden sane? Hopefully for Homer’s sake…poor kid is going to have enough trouble in school with that name. Heche, who has appeared in such films as Psycho and Six Days, Seven Nights, is currently co-starring in John Q with Denzel Washington. I guess the question remains…is it Anne Heche we are watching on the big screen or her alter-ego, Celestia?
