PR: Blount High School - Champs of Alabama State 5A Basketball
Blount High School, in Prichard, Alabama, is making waves after winning the state 5A championship
USA TODAY and all other polls and newspapers and college coaches should take note that the best basketball team in the state of Alabama and one of the best in the USA is Blount High School of Prichard, Alabama.
This team is comprised mainly of Juniors and Sophomores and will be ranked in the top 10 nationally next year.
Kennedy Winston (JUNIOR) wil get National Player of the Year consideration next year. (He should have been considered this year.) Their coach, Arthur Haynes, has now won state basketball championships in Mississippi (MOSS POINT HIGH) and Alabama (BLOUNT HIGH), and should be considered for National Coach of the Year based on the team's outstanding performance over the last two years.
Congratulations Mattie T. Blount High School Leopards - 2000-2001 Alabama State 5A Basketball Champions.
{PS: Also, my nephew is the Assistant Coach at Upland High School (SEE THE USA TODAY POLLS) here in California. They are also favored to win the California State Basketball Championship in their division.)
