Scott Stapp Sued
A lawsuit was filed late last week against Scott Stapp by a woman who claims she was one of the women in the infamous Stapp-Kid Rock sex video.

The 12-page complaint was filed in Miami by a woman identified only as "Jane Doe." The complaint reportedly alleges invasion of privacy, unauthorized use of her likeness, and infliction of emotional distress. The woman also alludes to the fact that Stapp released the sex tape to boost his poor album sales. The woman claims that in December 1999 she engaged in a "romantic interlude" with Stapp who was the frontman for Creed at the time who was touring with Kid Rock.
The claim alleges that the woman then joined three other women in "performing various sex acts in the privacy of [Kid Rock’s] chartered bus." Doe claims the release of the tape is especially damaging to her because she claims she was "the star of the females." As for the fact that she actually participated in the video, Doe claims that she knew the video was being shot but didn’t know the tape was going to be released.
Stapp, who shot the video, and the adult entertainment company that planned to sell the tape, World Wide Red Light District, were named as defendants in the suit. Kid Rock was not named in the lawsuit. Doe alleges that Stapp released the video to Red Light District. Stapp maintains that the tape was stolen and that "someone" is out to sabotage his career. Red Light District has said that they did not receive the tape from Stapp. Doe is reportedly seeking upwards of $15,000 in damages and a temporary restraining order barring the sale or distribution of the video. As for Rock, he calls Stapp an "idiot" for losing the tape and said, "I’m holding him responsible."
