Perception of being healthy
Being too thin or too fat is unhealthy, but good health is about much more than just your weight.
Most people on their way to reduction may encounter a variety of diets while climbing their way to losing their current weight. The shift from one diet to another is necessary so that your body does not get used to a particular type of diet. Plus an additional benefit or sad part is the fact that you may be born with some dominant genes that make your journey to either lose or gain weight a little difficult. If you think smoking helped you in curbing your appetite and so did coffee, it may not affect you in quite the same manner. In fact you might just make your tissues a lot more dry by the intake of coffee.
One of the many famous reasons for possessing the weight you do are probably your genes. Genes that you have inherited from your parents. You family medical history can also be a great pointer for you to answer your broad bone queries. Of course doctors view the family history only in times of detecting serious ailments, but if you're truly looking out for some great reasons for you being (I hate to use the word fat) healthy, now you know why? Although there are some illnesses or conditions that are not passed on from generation to generation, like thyroid and gallstones, there are others that may follow the pattern of your parents, for example, diabetes and blood pressure.
Many people have a distorted perception of what constitutes a healthy body weight. Looking at yourself in the mirror isn't a very useful way to assess whether you possess healthy weight or not. Most people compare themselves with others rather than by objective standards, which is wrong. After all what looks good on you may or may not look good on another, be it then the fat that we are talking about!
What's your BMI?
If you've ever been to an obstetrician, or a weight reduction specialist, you'll notice that he uses forceps like instruments to measure your fat. This calculation is known as calculating Body mass index, or BMI as it is known. Research shows that people within a certain range of body size tend to live the longest and enjoy the best health.
The BMI Calculator is only one of the many guides to determine your overall health. Waist measurement, body fat level, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc., are all calculators of your health every step of the way.
Are you underweight?
We all know that being overweight can put your health at risk, but it can also suffer if you weigh too little.
Generally one associates stress with being underweight. But you can't really use this yardstick for measuring the factors of being under weight. Some people tend to hog on food, especially sweets in terms of depression or stress. Some people take refuge in smoking not realizing that after a fag or two, what tags along is either a mouth freshener or sweet to get rid of the smoke odor.
If you've thought losing weight was to get rid of everything in sight, then you may be at a great risk of losing essential iron from your blood and also calcium, from your bones. Insufficient calcium could cause several problems of the joints, and even osteoporosis later on in life. If you're trying to gain weight then eat sensibly and consult some professional help of some sort for the same.
Constant loss and gain of weight could affect your skin too! The frequent contraction and expansion of your skin can lead to you receiving stretch marks at an early age. Besides as you age the skin tends to lose its elasticity, making you look older than what you are.
It's not essential to have a figure that's typical of a ramp model, but it's important to be fit. Despite the kind of exercises that you might perform, add in stretching in your workout. Have at least fifteen minutes of meditation thrown in after you've completed your work out regime and most of all feel energetic to get back to exercise once you've completed it on the day decided by you. Getting back to renew yourself for a workout is taxing for many women as they have already tired themselves out, thanks to the excessive enthusiasm on the very first day of exercise. Don't let that happen to you.
Work out as many times in a week as you can, at least 3-4 times for maximum benefits. You'll realize that the release of toxins in your body after every work out makes you live life to the fullest. Also after you've tried a hand at every possible means to get to your targeted weight, you'll see the reactions from all around you too. Believe me, if you've been faithful to your body, you'll love the way it looks after those rigorous hours of working out!
