Your body responds to you in many ways, stress is one of them. Whether external or internal, stress can get you paralyzed with diseases in time to come.
A little stress is a good thing, but too much can be devastating for both your health as well as for your relationships.
Of course you need a certain amount of stress in order to have a full life, but too much of it and you might place your immune system to go berserk. Stress like bacteria comes in two categories; good and bad. The good one is more like your driving force getting you out of bed every morning and filling your being with the enthusiasm to get you through the activities of the day!
When stress becomes stressful
Like your body temperature, you need to measure the amount of stress each day, too much and you’ll fall sick in bed; too little and life would become too mundane and monotonous. Lack of stress generally means that your body is lethargy prone. It leaves you with a feeling of utter boredom and isolation. Here’s where the good old extra circular activities fall in place. Many people do crazy things to get out of their routine lives, in order to beat the lack of stress. It may be difficult to believe but stress seeps in our lives much like the change in weather. For people who are utterly unaware what to do in life, stress may also seek them to become drug addicts, smoking chimneys and alcoholics for the want of beating stress.
Most crimes stem out of stress. You’ll find this most happening in rich households. For most of these groups of people who have almost everything at their disposal, they seek to doing something different for themselves. With little worries of making ends meet, you’ll find the lack of stress inhibiting them from doing something interesting. Most eve teasing is an outcome of boredom. If you had to work 12 hours a day and get back home battered and tired, I am sure you wouldn’t even get the wildest of thoughts to do something nasty! An idle mind is a devil’s workshop is something that was perhaps coined keeping in mind the lack of stress.
Too much stress, on the other hand, can result in a variety of health ailments including headaches, stomach upsets, high blood pressure and even stroke or heart disease. It can also spark feelings of rage, anxiety and fear, which in turn, help destroy relationships; both at home as well as at work.
There are some jobs that are stress inducing jobs and some trigger or event and stress hits at you. Like the job of secretaries of high flying CEOs. Their job is no less as compared to an office boy. Whose sole responsibility is to deliver and receive goods to and from respective managers in an office setup.
Stress may also be in the form of anxiety, where with the passage of time it may amount to a mild pressure as well. Often Stress is related to some sort of negativism, like the death of a relative or even a terrible senior who you have to bear up with each day thanks to being married to the job. Divorce is another form of stress that can leave you in a state of depression.
Stress busters
In order to cope with their stress, there may be many books and ideas that talk about de-stressing you. These are broadly known as stress busters. Of course like we discussed in the past there may also be negative shades to busting stress. These may not only be ineffective but also unhealthy. These may include hitting the bottle, binging on food or even drugs for that matter. Here are some of the positive stress busters.
* You may begin with taking a short wink. Short naps not only re-charge you but also divert your mind and silence it. Take a nap to recharge your batteries.
* Get a haircut or a change in your hairstyle. More often than not people tend to drive their thoughts away from what they have at hand by changing their look. You could also go in for some beauty treatments, like pampering yourself to a spa or even a body massage.
* Write down positive thoughts and all those thoughts that make you feel good. Feel good activities are always a welcome relief to all the tensions that you have so far experienced.
* Dance your blues away. Dancing is known to be one of the cheapest and most effective means to driving stress. In fact most dancers are known to indulge in the practice of dance to drive them away from the stress that they possess, through anticipation and dance rehearsals, another form of positive stress. Dance is also known as a great stress buster and this is one reason why you’d find most dancers a glowing lot of people.
* Be gentle to yourself! Keep good and positive people for company. Go for long walks with them and discuss matters of mutual interest. If you have recently broken up with your boy friend, try talking to close friends who can give you great advice. A good bout of communication is known to open your mind.
